Background
Begin Your Journey of Self-Discovery and Growth
Therapy is about more than solving a problem—it’s about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and how you navigate the world. Whether you’re feeling stuck, questioning old patterns, or searching for clarity, therapy offers the opportunity to explore these challenges in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. My goal is to guide you through this process of self-discovery while helping you build the tools and awareness needed to create meaningful change in your life.
My Approach: Self-Understanding Meets Practical Growth
I believe that real growth comes from understanding yourself at a deeper level—your thoughts, habits, and emotions—and how these shape your life experiences. At the same time, therapy can help you develop new ways of thinking and behaving to overcome challenges. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and beliefs that may no longer serve you while creating a path forward that aligns with who you are and what you value.
My practice is grounded in evidence-based methods and informed by Eastern philosophy, which I studied during my graduate training in Hawaii. This combination allows me to integrate mindfulness, reflection, and practical strategies into our work. Whether we’re exploring your identity, relationships, or your approach to life’s challenges, our focus will always be on gaining clarity, building self-awareness, and fostering lasting growth.
What You Can Expect
• A Focus on Self-Discovery: We’ll uncover the unconscious patterns and beliefs that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, helping you better understand yourself and how you interact with the world.
• Growth Through Process: Therapy is not just about fixing problems—it’s about understanding who you are and learning how to navigate life with greater intention and clarity.
• Collaboration and Support: I’ll work alongside you, offering guidance and perspective while creating a safe space where you feel understood and empowered to share openly.
• Practical Tools for Change: While self-awareness is key, we’ll also explore how to apply new insights to your everyday life, helping you overcome challenges and move toward your goals.
About Me
My work is informed by nearly a decade of experience in helping individuals deepen their self-understanding and navigate life’s complexities with greater confidence. I earned my undergraduate degrees from Howard University and the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and completed a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the Hawaii School of Professional Psychology in 2015.
During my training, I completed internships at the University of Texas, El Paso, and the University of California, San Francisco, where I developed a deep appreciation for working with diverse clients and life experiences. After graduating, I worked in a group practice in the Financial District of Boston, MA, and currently serve as a full-time psychologist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. I also maintain a private practice through Telehealth, providing accessible therapy to clients in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Therapy as a Journey
I see therapy as a shared journey—one that allows you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your world. Whether you’re navigating stress, struggling with self-doubt, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy offers a space to explore these challenges with curiosity and intention.
Through our work together, you’ll gain the tools and insights to make meaningful changes, but just as importantly, you’ll come to know yourself better along the way.
